Lessard Lake Outdoor Ed Centre

lessard-lake-campground-01Situated in a scenic area full of trees and a nearby lake with a public beach, the Lessard Lake Outdoor Education Centre is a terrific location for map and compass, wilderness training or a weekend exercise.

On site, you will find many amenities, which will make your rustic getaway a little more comfortable. The 40’ x 60’ main lodge is heated with a spacious kitchen area, consisting of a commercial gas range complete with burners, two ovens and a grill; a large double sided cooler, a refrigerator and a chest freezer; electrical outlets, running water, stainless steel 3-compartment sink and two large serving tables. A loft area above the kitchen overlooks a stone fireplace located on the main floor. For your safety, the lodge is equipped with smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, first aid kit and a telephone for emergency purposes.

Included with your booking are four 20' x 20' cabins divided into two rooms each with bunk bed frames – total sleeping capacity 48! There are also two fire pit culverts with log seating, two barrel type natural gas BBQs and picnic tables. Six canoes are also available for your use. The large open area is a great spot to set up tents or for other activities. The shed is kept supplied with firewood.

A fully operational Washroom with sinks & toilet stalls are shared with the Lessard Lake Public Campground. A coin operated shower will allow you to end or start the day with a clean hot shower.

The nearby lake, accessible by a paved pathway leading from the lodge, is used for boating, fishing, canoeing, and swimming. Canoes are available for our use, please state needs when booking.

Where It's Located

lessard-lake-campground-02Lessard Lake Outdoor Education Centre is located approximately 1 hour northwest of Edmonton. Follow the Lac Ste. Anne County Lessard Lake Public Campground signs. Please note that all distances in (km) are approximates.

  • Highway # 43 directions: From Edmonton, head west on HWY #16 to the intersection of HWY # 43 (50 km). Follow along HWY # 43 corridor to RGE. RD 51 (42 km). Head south on RGE. RD 51 (3 km) to the entrance of Lessard Lake Public Campground.

  • Highway # 16 directions: From Edmonton, head west on HWY # 16 to intersection of HWY # 765 (74 km). Head north on HWY # 765 to TWP. RD 554 (21 km). Head west to RGE. RD 51 (1.6 km) and head north (0.8 km) to the entrance of Lessard Lake Public Campground.
